Proximo Marketing Begins Company Rebrand as MaKenna Wood Leads Next Stage of Growth
Virginia marketing firm expands its account management team while updating its brand to reflect its services, leadership, and client relationships
GLOUCESTER, Va., Sept. 10, 2026 - Proximo Marketing is moving into its next stage of growth with a company rebrand underway, MaKenna Wood serving as President and Chief Marketing Officer, and new account manager positions currently being filled.
Together, these developments reflect how Proximo has evolved from a small marketing consultancy into a full-service firm that helps businesses manage strategy, branding, websites, social media, email, search marketing, paid advertising, video, and other creative services.
The rebrand is being developed to better represent Proximo’s current capabilities, values, team, and direction. It will give the company a clearer foundation for introducing its services to new clients while maintaining the personal relationships that have shaped its work since the beginning.
“Proximo has grown, our team has evolved, and the way we serve clients has become much more complete. We want our brand to reflect who we are today while protecting the values and relationships that brought us here.” COURTNEY RILEY | Founder and CEO
A brand that reflects the company Proximo has become
For Proximo, the rebrand is more than a change in its logo or color palette. It is an opportunity to clarify what the company stands for, show the full range of support available to clients, and make its public identity consistent with the business it operates today.
The update will support Proximo’s shift toward a more complete, relationship-based marketing model while giving its growing team a shared identity for the next stage of the company.
Leadership for Proximo’s next stage
Wood now serves as Proximo’s President and Chief Marketing Officer, connecting the company’s long-term direction with its marketing strategy, client experience, and internal execution. She has worked across strategy, account management and department leadership, helping translate client goals into coordinated work for Proximo’s specialists.
Her responsibilities include developing marketing plans, overseeing client relationships, guiding internal teams, and helping projects stay aligned with client expectations. She also holds a master’s degree in Music Business from the University of Miami and has experience supporting service-based businesses and trades-industry organizations.

“Becoming President is an opportunity to protect what makes Proximo special while helping the company grow with greater clarity. I want our clients to feel supported, our team to feel connected, and every strategy to have a clear purpose behind it.” MAKENNA WOOD | President and Chief Marketing Officer
Riley will continue to serve as founder and CEO, bringing her experience as an entrepreneur and business strategist to Proximo’s direction and leadership. She founded the company in 2012 after recognizing that businesses needed practical marketing support but often lacked the time or internal resources to build and execute a complete strategy.
What began as a home-based consultancy has grown into a multidisciplinary marketing firm serving businesses in Virginia and across the country. Riley and Wood now lead a team whose work spans planning, design, content, websites, digital campaigns, and client service.
Expanding account management to support client growth
Proximo is filling new account manager positions to increase its client-service capacity and provide businesses with focused, consistent support. The expansion is intended to protect the quality of communication as Proximo serves more clients and manages broader campaigns.
A dedicated account manager connects each client with Proximo’s team of specialists. Account managers learn the client’s business, goals, audience, and brand, then coordinate projects, document decisions, monitor progress, and keep communication organized.

“An account manager is more than someone who sends project updates. They understand the client’s business, keep communication moving, connect the strategy to the work, and make sure the client never feels like just another project.” MAKENNA WOOD | President and Chief Marketing Officer
Solving the problem of fragmented marketing
Small and midsize business owners are expected to manage more marketing channels than ever. Websites, search, social media, email, advertising, video, content, and brand development can all help attract customers, but handling those channels separately can become expensive and difficult to coordinate.
Without a unified strategy, companies risk inconsistent messaging, delayed projects, missed leads, and spending that is difficult to connect to results. Proximo addresses that problem by serving as an alternative to hiring and managing a complete in-house marketing department. Clients gain access to strategists, designers, writers, web professionals, digital specialists, and account managers through one working relationship.
Experience supported by client results
Proximo’s services include marketing strategy, social media and email marketing, SEO, Google Ads, website design and maintenance, graphic design, content development, video production, direct mail, team building and leadership development. The goal is to help clients replace scattered activity with a coordinated plan built around clear business objectives.
The company’s website displays more than 50 Google reviews. Clients describe Proximo’s communication, responsiveness, creativity, and ability to understand their organizations before recommending a strategy. Published feedback also points to successful website redesigns, stronger online engagement and smoother coordination throughout marketing projects.
Proximo also reports receiving Best of recognition in the marketing industry for five consecutive years. The rebrand, Wood’s leadership and the expanded account-management team are intended to build on that record without losing the personal attention clients expect.
“A rebrand should not erase what people already value about a company. It should make the company’s purpose clearer and help the outside identity catch up with the growth that has already happened inside.” COURTNEY RILEY | Founder and CEO
